20 years work at the piano, 10 years at sea. Queen Mary II, Disney ships, Silversea 6 ships, P&O, Ferry boat.
More than 4000 songs from Beethoven to Queen, from Strauss to Billy Joel, from John Williams to Einaudi. Walzes, ragtimes, pop or rock songs, classical, showtime, cartoon and movie music. Only one matters: if the audience do like it. The cocktail pianist doesn't make the music alone: the audience makes it with him together, he just picks up the mood of the room. If the people want to chat I play background music. When they are ready for more entertainment I play thematical "Name that tune" game or "live Karaoke" - they can sing with the piano. Of course everybody can have a request of a song.
I prefer the acoustic piano but I have a digital piano (Roland FP7) with amplifier (Roland KC550) and if it's necessary I set a cocktail corner with lamp, small carpet, nice looking piano.
Fluent english and german. Learning spanish.
